How we pay for the lights.

Last Thread Co. is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. We may also participate in other affiliate programs from time to time.

In plain English: when you click a product link on this site and end up buying something, we get a small commission from the retailer. It doesn't change the price you pay. It's how a site like this one stays free to read, and how we cover the cost of writing, photography, and the very modest server bill.

A few things we promise about how we use those links. First, we don't get paid to feature products, ever. No brand pays us to include them in a guide, and no PR rep can talk their way onto the site by sending us a sample. Second, we don't link to something we wouldn't recommend to our own family. If it isn't good enough to give to your dad, it isn't good enough for the site. Third, when we get something wrong — and we will, sooner or later — we'll update the page and leave a note about what changed.

If you ever feel like we recommended something that wasn't worth it, we'd genuinely like to hear about it. The whole point of the project is to be a trustworthy short list, not a long one.
