What we collect, what we don't.

We try to collect as little as possible. Here's the honest list of what shows up in our records and why it's there.

Email signups

If you give us your email address through the subscribe form, we add it to our newsletter list so we can send you the Saturday email. We derive a first name from the part of your email before the @ to make the messages a little less robotic. That's it. We don't sell, rent, or share the list. You can unsubscribe at the bottom of any email and we'll take you off immediately.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel to understand which guides people read, which links get clicked, and which ads are worth running. These tools set cookies and log standard things like the page you visited, your approximate location, and your device type. They do not log anything about who you are personally.

Affiliate links

When you click a "shop this" link, your browser is redirected to a retailer (usually Amazon) with a tag that tells them the visit came from us. The retailer's own privacy policy then governs what they do with your visit and purchase. We don't see what you bought, only that you clicked.

Cookies

The cookies on this site are set by the analytics tools above and by Cloudflare, which handles our DNS. We don't set any of our own tracking cookies.
